Artemis Hokkaido, the first women’s professional volleyball team based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, is set to enhance its management framework with the appointment of Hiroyuki Honda as an outside director, effective August 1, 2025. Honda, a distinguished figure in the business sector, previously held the role of Director and Executive Vice President at Recruit Holdings, where he spearheaded various initiatives from human resources to new business development.

With an extensive background in corporate growth strategies, marketing, and organizational management, Honda brings valuable insights that will contribute significantly to Artemis Hokkaido's sustainable operational framework. His involvement promises to foster collaboration with the local community and formulate growth strategies for the sports business.

Honda’s professional journey is noteworthy. After graduating from Hokkaido University with a degree in Law in March 1984, he joined Recruit in April of the same year. Over the years, he has climbed the ranks, taking on pivotal roles such as company director, advisor to multiple firms, including 51job, Inc., and Genie Co Ltd, to name just a few. His contributions have remained significant across various organizations, providing strategic direction that impacts corporate value enhancement.

As he assumes his new role at Artemis Hokkaido, there is an eagerness and anticipation for what Honda will bring to the team. His wealth of experience, especially in supporting startups and local revitalization projects, offers a multifaceted perspective that is crucial for the future of the volleyball team. In a strategic move, they will welcome Wiz Co., Ltd. as their ownership company on April 25, 2025, further strengthening their management foundation. Additionally, the team will rebrand its colors from gold and silver to pink and blue starting from the 2025-26 season.
