More Than Just a Musical

Collaborating with over 20 sponsors—including well-known brands such as Royal Canin and Minatoya—the event promises to be a comprehensive celebration for cat enthusiasts.

Activities during the event will include product sales in the lobby and engaging talk shows post-performance focused on educating attendees about cats. What sets CATsLa apart is its unique approach to storytelling, directly addressing contemporary issues facing cats today, rather than merely serving as a parody of previous musicals, such as the celebrated Broadway show CATS.

A Feline Adventure Awaits

The narrative begins under a shooting star, plunging Earth into chaos as cats from a local cat café in Ryogoku make a daring escape. They venture into narrow alleys that lead them to a mysterious Cat Kingdom located on the moon's far side. Here, a community of cat aficionados awaits, eager for “adoption.”
The cats strive to save Earth from impending doom while also waiting for their moment to be welcomed into loving homes.

Set to original compositions performed on a grand piano, CATsLa creates a magical musical fantasy that is filled with humor, charm, and even a trace of sadness.

Cast and Crew

The cast features talented artists who share a love for cats, including professional ballerina Maria Matsuura, aerial performer Akane Sugimori, and soprano Sachi Takabe. The show is under the supervision of cat expert SARA SEKI, ensuring that characters authentically reflect the unique traits of different cat breeds. Additionally, Tomoko Oguchi, who has an impressive record of 1500 performances in the original CATS production by Shiki Theatre Company, will provide support in guiding the cat's movements and behaviors.
