Shanghai Electric Unveils 'SUYUAN'
In a groundbreaking revelation at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2025, Shanghai Electric showcased its first self-developed industrial humanoid robot, named 'SUYUAN'. This event, which took place on July 26 in Shanghai, marks a significant advancement in the field of robotics and intelligent manufacturing. As an innovative leader in the industrial sector, Shanghai Electric aims to revolutionize next-generation manufacturing through holistic value chain strategies and cutting-edge technologies.
SUYUAN: A Technological Marvel
SUYUAN is engineered with an impressive 38 degrees of freedom (DoF) and integrated processing power of 275 TOPS, enabling it to execute precise operations and dynamic movements with remarkable adaptability across a multitude of industrial applications. With human-like proportions, standing at 167 cm tall and weighing 50 kg, SUYUAN has been designed to navigate complex industrial environments seamlessly.
The robot's exceptional dexterity stems from its multiple degrees of freedom, allowing for both delicate manipulations and expansive movements. SUYUAN is capable of lifting loads of up to 10 kg and can handle objects weighing up to 2 kg using a single arm. Its performance is enhanced by a movement speed of up to 5 km/h, making it an ideal asset for logistics and assembly line tasks.
Advanced Technologies Driving Performance
Incorporating a sophisticated blend of LiDAR and binocular vision technologies, SUYUAN achieves autonomous self-navigation. Its AI processor allows for real-time data analysis and the integration of machine learning models, empowering it to interpret tasks naturally and adaptively manipulate objects. During pilot tests, SUYUAN successfully identified, positioned, and relocated boxes of various sizes, illustrating its potential to significantly boost warehouse productivity through advanced visual processing and synchronized joint control.
Innovations in Intelligent Manufacturing
The unveiling of SUYUAN is a pivotal moment not just for Shanghai Electric but for the broader landscape of intelligent manufacturing. During the WAIC 2025 event, another remarkable innovation, the dual-arm robot 'LINGKE', was presented, capturing the audience's attention with its ability to tackle demanding manufacturing challenges. LINGKE stands out with its high-precision operations, adaptive collaboration capabilities, and closed-loop data management, which amplify human productivity by allowing workers to focus on complex tasks, thereby increasing efficiency fivefold.
