DB HiTek to Strengthen Its European Market Presence at PCIM 2026

DB HiTek, a prominent custom foundry focused on 8-inch wafers, has announced its participation in the upcoming Power Conversion and Intelligent Motion (PCIM) Europe 2026 exhibition. This significant trade show, renowned as a leading platform for power semiconductors, will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from June 9 to 11. The company's involvement in this event marks a strategic step toward expanding its presence in the European market, following a successful debut at the previous year's exhibition.

Building on Success

Last year, during its first participation at PCIM, DB HiTek established personal connections with numerous customers, discussing manufacturing processes and collaborative opportunities. The firm experienced an impressive turnout with over 1,000 visitors at its booth and is optimistic that ongoing negotiations will translate into concrete business results through new partnerships this year.

At the 2026 event, DB HiTek will showcase advancements in its next-generation SiC (Silicon Carbide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride) processes. The company is particularly keen to highlight its BCDMOS (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) technology, a key element in its energy management solutions portfolio.

Strategic Initiatives

A packed schedule of meetings with global clients reflects DB HiTek's commitment to continued collaboration. According to market research firm Yole Développement, the global markets for SiC and GaN-based power semiconductors are on the cusp of rapid growth. The SiC market is projected to soar from approximately $4.8 billion in 2026 to $10.4 billion by 2030, showcasing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21%. In parallel, the GaN sector is expected to escalate from $900 million to $2.9 billion over the same period, marking a remarkable CAGR of 33%.

Future Developments

In December 2025, DB HiTek commenced Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) runs for its SiC and GaN technologies, producing samples for over ten customer products. These samples were delivered between March and April 2026, and the company is currently evaluating client feedback to integrate into the final process verification. Full-scale commercial production is anticipated to launch in 2027.

Currently, DB HiTek maintains production for around 400 customers, predominantly focusing on its flagship power semiconductor offerings. Moreover, the firm collaborates with a wide customer base utilizing specialized imaging sensor technologies, including X-ray, Global Shutter, and SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diode). As demand grows in the industrial and automotive sectors, the company's application portfolio is increasingly shifting toward these areas, reflecting their expanding market significance.

Participating in PCIM Europe 2026 not only underscores DB HiTek's commitment to enhancing its market share in Europe but also demonstrates its readiness to adopt innovative technologies and approaches to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
