The 'Chickadee & HOME Vintage Exhibition' is set to take place from October 3 to 5, 2025. This unique event will showcase an exquisite collection featuring the pinnacle of Nordic and German modern design from the 1930s to the 1950s. It will be held simultaneously at two venues: 'ESCAPERS AN OTHER WORLD (OBJECT)' and 'Moon Creative Lab Inc. (FURNITURE/OBJECT)'. This exhibition is curated by the well-known Scandinavian vintage furniture store, Chickadee & HOME, located in Sendai.

The spotlight of the exhibition will be on masterpieces crafted by iconic designers who shaped the golden age of modern design. Among the featured artists are Dieter Rams and Wilhelm Wagenfeld from Germany, Alvar and Aino Aalto from Finland, and Hans J. Wegner and Finn Juhl from Denmark. Each piece in the collection has been meticulously selected, showcasing the timeless elegance and functional beauty that characterize these legendary works.

• - Finn Juhl's NV-53 Sofa (Custom Model): Initially presented in 1953, this custom three-seater piece stands out with its gracefully extending arms reminiscent of animal horns. Its airy seat and organic back legs create a sense of lightness, making it a striking centerpiece.

• - Alvar Aalto's E69 Chair: Known for its comfort due to upholstered seat and back, this chair has been beloved in various settings. • - Wilhelm Wagenfeld's Kubus: Designed in 1938, this stackable glass container represents a perfect blend of functional design and aesthetic appeal, demonstrating efficient food storage while serving as an elegant décor piece today.

In addition to these vintage masterpieces, the exhibition will feature contemporary works by modern artisans curated by GALLERY ESCAPERS, highlighting the craftsmanship of bamboo artist Hitomi Abe and glass artist Yoshiko Nitta. These contemporary pieces embody a re-interpretation of the 'functional beauty,' 'respect for materials,' and 'universality' that defined the mid-20th century modern design, allowing visitors to experience both historical and futuristic design perspectives simultaneously.
