Arctech Partners with ACME for 175 MW Solar Trackers in Oman

Arctech Expands Renewable Energy Footprint in Oman

Arctech, a global frontrunner in solar tracking technology, has announced a strategic agreement with ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a prominent renewable energy firm based in India. This collaboration aims to provide an impressive 175 MWp of solar trackers for ACME's ambitious 300 MTPD Green Ammonia Project in Duqm, Oman. This landmark initiative showcases not just Arctech's innovative capabilities but also the growing commitment of nations to embrace renewable energy solutions.

The Project Overview

Located near Oman's southeastern coast, Duqm presents a unique environment well-suited for solar energy projects due to its coastal desert climate. The region is characterized by sandy soils, elevated wind speeds of up to 55 m/s, and a remarkable solar radiation level averaging about 5,764 KWh/m² annually. Such conditions create an optimal setting for utility-scale solar developments, marking Duqm as a key player in the global renewable energy landscape.

Arctech is set to deploy its advanced Signature 1P Single Axis Solar Tracking System Skyline II, specially designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions. This solar tracker will facilitate the solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, essential for powering one of the inaugural large-scale green hydrogen production facilities in the region. Deliveries of these innovative trackers will commence in phases starting July 2025, providing a sustainable energy foundation for this groundbreaking project.

Supporting Oman's Renewable Energy Goals

Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has been proactive in rolling out new renewable energy initiatives in Duqm, including a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) project. The nation's aspiration to derive 35-39% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2040 aligns seamlessly with this project, reinforcing Oman's strategic vision for energy diversification. By fostering partnerships like this one, Oman is establishing itself as a pivotal hub for the global energy transition.

The collaboration between Arctech and ACME is vital not only for delivering renewable energy but also for demonstrating the transformative potential of green technologies. As the Duqm project progresses, it stands to become a flagship model of industrial decarbonization through the integration of solar energy and next-generation hydrogen fuel technologies. This partnership underpins Arctech's expanding global influence in monumental renewable energy projects.

Commitment to Excellence

Reflecting on this collaboration, Vipin Aggarwal, the Vice President of Procurement in Green Hydrogen and International Business at ACME, expressed optimism: “We are pleased to partner with Arctech for our 300 MTPD Green Hydrogen project in Duqm, Oman. This collaboration marks an important milestone in our green hydrogen journey, and we are confident that Arctech's advanced tracking solutions and project execution capabilities will support us in achieving optimal energy efficiency and reliability under challenging coastal and high-wind site conditions.”

As this project unfolds, it embodies a significant stride toward cleaner energy solutions, aligning with the broader goals of environmental sustainability and innovation. Arctech's proven track record in large-scale projects globally adds a layer of confidence to this venture, paving the way for more substantial advancements in renewable energy technologies.

In conclusion, Arctech's engagement in Oman's green hydrogen project not only promotes renewable energy utilization but also sets a precedent for future projects worldwide. As they gear up to deliver advanced solar trackers, the partnership is poised to significantly impact the future of clean energy in Oman and beyond.
