A Glimpse into Walter Auer's Journey



Walter Auer's illustrious career in music began with studies at prestigious institutions under notable mentors. He learned from the likes of Karlheinz Zoller and studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum, further honing his skills at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Academy under the guidance of Wolfgang Schulz. Before his tenure that began in 2003 with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, Auer held principal positions with the Dresden Philharmonic and the Hanover North German Radio Philharmonic. His accomplishments have led to remarkable solo performances with various esteemed orchestras including Japan's Century Orchestra, the San Diego Symphony, and more, solidifying his status as a leading flutist.

He has also released a myriad of CDs through different labels like Tudor, BIS, and King International, showcasing his artistry that transcends boundaries.

Accompanist: Ryoko Sawaki



Joining Auer on stage is the talented pianist Ryoko Sawaki, a graduate of Toho Gakuen School of Music. After her graduation, she moved to France and went on to attain the highest honors from the Paris Conservatory in both piano and chamber music. She has performed alongside members of prestigious groups such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic. Currently, she serves as a part-time lecturer at Toho Gakuen University.
