ACTEC Welcomes 51 New Fellows to Enhance Trust and Estate Law
On October 23, during its 2025 Fall Meeting in Austin, Texas, the Board of Regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) gathered to elect 51 new Fellows. This significant milestone underscores ACTEC’s ongoing commitment to excellence in the fields of trust and estate law.
A Glimpse into the New Members
Among the newly elected members are 48 Fellows, one Academic Fellow, and two International Fellows, representing both Canada and the United Kingdom. The diverse backgrounds and experiences of these individuals will enrich the College’s collective knowledge. Notably, eleven of the new Fellows are graduates of the ACTEC Fellows Institute, while two have been recognized as Dennis I. Belcher Young Leaders, highlighting the College's initiative to foster the next generation of leaders in this legal specialty.
ACTEC President, Peter S. Gordon, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "On behalf of the College, I welcome our newly elected Fellows, whose exceptional skill, integrity, and commitment to the profession strengthen ACTEC's mission. Each brings deep experience and fresh insight to the College's work in improving trust and estate law and promoting the highest standards of practice."
Admission Criteria for Membership
To join ACTEC as a Fellow, candidates must possess a minimum of ten years of active experience in trust and estate law or as fiduciary counsel in a fiduciary services company, or a combination that fulfills these criteria. The selection process is rigorous, emphasizing the candidates' outstanding reputation, exceptional skills, and substantial contributions to the field through teaching, writing, public speaking, and active participation in the legal community.
