Xacti's New Object Detection Feature for Forklift Safety Management
Xacti Corporation, based in Osaka, Japan, is set to revolutionize workplace safety with its latest enhancement to the forklift safety camera system, ["FokuReco Connect"]. Initially launched in February 2025, this system now features an optional
Object Detection Function, aimed at advancing safety protocols even further in busy working environments.
Elevating Safety in Warehouses and Logistics Centers
The FokuReco Connect system is designed to be easily retrofitted onto various forklifts. It includes an AI-enabled safety camera equipped with person detection capabilities, which works in tandem with a safety management service that allows operators to monitor alert histories and hazardous scene videos from their offices. This innovative system actively detects individuals approaching the forklift and warns operators and nearby workers with visual alerts or alarms, significantly reducing the risk of accidents involving human contact.
With the introduction of the Object Detection Function, the system can now also identify and alert for objects in addition to people. Users will have the ability to view detection alerts for obstacles such as packages, columns, and walls via FokuReco Connect’s safety management service. This is especially beneficial in warehouses, factories, or logistics centers where visibility can be obstructed, particularly in reverse maneuvers. By implementing this advanced detection feature, Xacti aims to support the safe operation of both novice drivers and less experienced workers, thereby minimizing the risks associated with property damage and personal injury in the workplace.
Overview of the Object Detection Function
This new functionality will be offered as an optional add-on for FokuReco Connect, with the installation of ultrasonic sensors in the rear of the forklift. With this setup, the system will have the capacity to detect not just human presence but also nearby objects, facilitating a comprehensive safety management solution. The frequency and timing of alert notifications, alongside recordings of dangerous scenes, will be available for review within the safety management service, providing a clear overview of on-site hazards even from a distance.
The official launch of this feature is scheduled for October 2025, with current opportunities available for preliminary trials. As soon as the release date is finalized, Xacti will provide updates on its website.
