OceanaGold Corporation has announced the appointment of Ms. Stefanie Loader as a Non-Executive Director to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. This strategic decision is aimed at enhancing the company’s leadership capabilities in the mining sector.

Stefanie Loader boasts a robust career marked by her leadership in various aspects of mining, including operational oversight and mineral exploration. She has also held board positions and chaired important committees related to health, safety, environment, and community concerns.

A Wealth of Experience


Ms. Loader’s career is distinguished by her extensive experience across multiple continents in a variety of commodities. Her background includes significant roles in copper and gold projects in regions such as Australia, Laos, Chile, and Peru. Notably, she served as the Managing Director of the Northparkes copper and gold mine in Australia, a position she held during her tenure with CMOC International and Rio Tinto from 2012 to 2017.

Her leadership has not gone unnoticed; from 2015 to 2017, she was the Chair of the New South Wales Minerals Council, reflecting her influence and expertise in the industry. Additionally, her impressive career includes serving in the office of the CEO for Rio Tinto, where she supported the Executive Committee and acted as an Exploration Executive.

Recognized for her contributions, Ms. Loader was named one of the Australian Financial Review's 100 Women of Influence in 2013, and she received the 2024 Outstanding Contribution to NSW Mining Award. Her educational credentials include a B.Sc. in Geology with Honors from the University of Western Australia, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Murdoch University, Australia.
