UBTECH Unveils UWORLD U1: A Revolutionary Full-Size Mass-Produced Humanoid Robot

UBTECH Launches UWORLD U1: A Groundbreaking Humanoid Robot

On June 30, 2026, UBTECH hosted its global event in Shenzhen, unveiling their revolutionary UWORLD series, the first fully mass-produced ultra-bionic humanoid robots in the world. With over 13,361 pre-orders logged, the series showcases three distinct models: the semi-torso U1 Lite, the high-performance full-body U1 Pro, and the dynamic full-body U1 Ultra, with prices starting at 119,800 RMB.

James Zhou, founder, and CEO of UBTECH, articulated the company's long-term vision for enhancing collaboration between humans and robots. He outlined a three-phase evolution: first, robots will take on hazardous and repetitive tasks to alleviate human risk; second, they will integrate into everyday life, serving companionship and assisting in various services; and finally, achieving seamless interaction between intelligent robots and humans.

Transitioning from a conventional robot manufacturer to a platform focused on AI-enabled robotics, UBTECH has embarked on a 20-year growth plan. From 2012 to 2022, the focus was on core technology development, moving humanoid robots from research labs to industrial application. The subsequent phase from 2023 to 2033 aims to embed humanoid robots into consumer life, marking 2026 as a pivotal year for UBTECH's evolution from industrial applications to consumer adoption.

Supported by proprietary technologies and a robust portfolio of applications, UBTECH has made remarkable strides in the sector. In 2025, the company ranked first globally in revenue and sales volume of full-size intelligent humanoid robots, and now with UWORLD, it aims to bridge its industrial expertise into the consumer market.

Michael Tam, Chief Brand Officer at UBTECH, emphasized the transformative role that human-robot companionship can play in mental well-being, suggesting a potential new consumer product category. The anticipated growth of the ultra-bionic humanoid robotics market in China could reach trillions of RMB by 2036, driven by demand for robots that can offer personalized emotional support.

The UWORLD integrates a proprietary end-to-end technology stack, featuring biomimetic skin, integrated intelligence hardware, advanced operating systems, and emotion-centric large language models (LLMs). This innovative architecture aims to overcome barriers that have long hampered the practical use of humanoid robots in real-world contexts.

The U1 series boasts 88 degrees of freedom and a unique biomimetic double-joint cervical column, enabling it to replicate up to 90% of human movement. Its AI-driven emotional awareness LLM can accurately recognize over 20 distinct emotional states, with a success rate exceeding 90%. This system operates under a cognitive neuroscience-inspired “fast and slow brain” biomimetic model that ensures intuitive responses in just 500 milliseconds.

Notably, the U1's facial expression actuators facilitate synchrony between speech and lip movement with less than 20 milliseconds of latency, creating an impressively realistic interaction experience. Additionally, the Agent Memory OS enables persistent digital life infrastructure, allowing for natural interactions triggered by contextual social cues.

A significant aspect of the UWORLD initiative is its commitment to data privacy; users maintain complete ownership of their data, supported by a three-tiered privacy architecture designed to prioritize local data processing and minimize cloud dependency. This secure framework fosters an environment where humanoid robots evolve from functional tools to empathetic companions capable of understanding and responding to emotions.

The U1 series caters to a wide range of consumer and commercial applications, including everyday companionship, emotional support, quality of life enhancement, and services in hospitality, elder care, psychological support, and more.

During the launch, UBTECH also introduced the “Human-Robot Companionship Initiative,” which aims to address the social issue of loneliness, especially among the 90 million solitary adults in China and the 118 million elderly without close family ties. In response, UWORLD has pledged to donate customized humanoid robots to vulnerable populations such as orphaned children and elderly individuals living alone, offering long-term emotional companionship and psychological support.

The initial plan for 2026 is to donate 100 customized U1 robots, which will incorporate 3D facial reconstruction technologies and voice imprint-based identity replication. These robots are designed to provide structured psychological support through a multimodal contextual awareness framework.

With the launch of UWORLD, UBTECH has established a comprehensive robotic solution portfolio that spans industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. The industrial Walker S series is already in mass production, while UWORLD is set to become a key growth driver, integrating humanoid robotics into consumer markets.
