The Civic Power Alliance Committee has officially announced that the Civic Power Battle National Championship 2026 will be held on July 10, 2026. This engaging event, titled "Civic Power Battle National Championship 2026 in Local Government Fair - Is the Love Real?", aims to bring together municipal employees and citizens in a collaborative effort to explore and present the unique charms of their communities through data-driven presentations.

Since its inaugural event in 2017, the Civic Power Battle (CPB) has hosted approximately ten championships nationwide. However, the competition was suspended temporarily due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the advancement of government data strategies and the development of well-being indicators, along with an increase in open data available at the municipal level, the CPB is set to restart as a national event. This revitalization encourages citizens to discuss their community's charms and happiness through data utilization while promoting proactive participation in community development.

Purpose of the Event

The Civic Power Battle 2026 aims to establish sustainable and well-being-oriented municipalities. Participants will present their affection for their communities and perceptions of regional happiness through presentations, fostering beneficial city promotions through collaboration among participating organizations and regions.

- Location: To be held at the Local Government Fair venue (tentative) in a hybrid format that includes online participation.

Application for Participation

Organizations that wish to showcase their community's affection and happiness based on data are invited to apply for participation in the championship. Interested organizations can submit their applications through the Civic Power Alliance's designated form. In case local organizations are applying, the endorsement or involvement of the respective local government is required.

Application Deadline

Participation Fee

- Participation is free; however, each organization is responsible for travel costs and video production expenses related to on-site attendance.

Final Selection

- Up to five organizations will be presented at the finals, with video preliminaries conducted if there's a high volume of applications.

Awards Announcement

- After evaluations on the championship day, various awards will be presented to outstanding presentations.

Workshops Using Happiness Visualization Apps

To support municipalities considering participation, the Civic Power Alliance will conduct workshops utilizing the Happiness Visualization App (by TIS Corporation). These workshops will aid in discovering local data through walking events and provide presentation development knowledge to assist in creating compelling presentations reflecting each region's unique characteristics. Municipalities interested can apply through the following form. Scheduling will be arranged based on first-come, first-served basis starting in September.
