Discover the Wonders of the Tropical Insects 2025 Exhibition
This summer, prepare for an unforgettable adventure at the Itabashi Tropical Environment Plant Museum, popularly known as 'Nettai-kan'. From July 8 to August 31, 2025, the museum will host its special exhibition, 'Tropical Insects 2025'. Located just a seven-minute walk from Takashimadaira Station on the Toei Mita Line, this facility showcases a stunning replica of Southeast Asia's tropical rainforest, complete with a mini aquarium.
Event Highlights
'Tropical Insects 2025' is anticipated to attract large crowds each year, as it features some of the world's most extraordinary beetles, including the Hercules beetle, hailed as one of the largest in the world, alongside other fascinating species such as the Grant's white beetle and the rainbow stag beetle. Attendees will have the chance to observe these lively insects up close, making it an ideal outing for families.
In addition to the insect displays, the exhibition will offer interactive experiences, including a chance to interact with insects in person and enjoy a talk show featuring insect-loving comedians.
Free Admission for Young Explorers
One of the best aspects of this event is that children in elementary and middle school can enter for free every Saturday and Sunday. Also, during the summer break in Itabashi, from July 21 to August 29, 2025, weekdays will also be free for these students.
