ISFnet Exceeds National Standards in Employee Engagement Survey Results

ISFnet Achieves Exceptional Employee Engagement Scores

In the fall of 2025, ISFnet, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo and led by CEO Yukiyoshi Watanabe, conducted a comprehensive company-wide survey focusing on work-life balance. This survey aimed to assess current employee sentiments and needs in order to enhance future initiatives relating to workplace welfare. With active participation from 2,209 employees, reflecting an impressive response rate of 87.1%, the results provide a vivid picture of employee engagement within the company.

Key Findings

The survey unveiled several key insights:
  • - Exceeding National Averages: In terms of work engagement, ISFnet's employee scores in the three categories of enthusiasm, vigor, and absorption outperformed those released by Japan's Ministry of Health. Notably, the enthusiasm score reached 4.17 points, compared to the national average of 3.92, while vigor and absorption scored at 3.51 and 3.58 points, respectively.
  • - Work-Life Balance Satisfaction: The overall satisfaction rate concerning work-life balance climbed to 77.8%, an increase from the previous year’s 75.1%. A remarkable 52.3% of employees identified as 'balanced' between work responsibilities and personal life, indicating a stabilizing environment free from excessive burdens.
  • - Future Career Aspirations: When asked about their career paths, 43.3% expressed interest in management positions, although a considerable number preferred to focus on specialized skills or showed concern about workload.
  • - Impact of Life Events: A significant proportion, approximately 57%, identified caregiving for family members and health issues as life events that could influence their careers.

These insights reflect high levels of engagement and satisfaction among employees, indicating that ISFnet is cultivating a supportive and empowering workplace culture.

Employee Engagement Scores

Work Engagement Metrics

The 'work engagement' metrics, measured by the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), highlighted that:
  • - Enthusiasm: 4.17 points (national average: 3.92)
  • - Vigor: 3.51 points (national average: 2.78)
  • - Absorption: 3.58 points (national average: 3.55)

The notably high vigor score, exceeding the national average by 0.73 points, indicates that employees experience a lively and dynamic work environment, effectively engaging with their tasks.

Work-Life Balance Satisfaction

Employee satisfaction regarding work-life balance reached new heights with a combined 'satisfied' and 'somewhat satisfied' rate of 77.8%. Additionally, around 60% of employees reported their health positively impacting their performance, highlighting a workforce that feels fit and engaged in their roles.

Career Path Insights

While a majority expressed a desire to advance to management, there remains a notable group prioritizing specialization over managerial roles, suggesting a diverse range of aspirations within the workforce. Engaging in open dialogues about career expectations and sharing role models could facilitate realizing a variety of career pathways for ISFnet employees.

Focus on Life Events

The prominence of family caregiving as a major concern was particularly striking, surpassing interest in child-rearing. Approximately 57% of employees reported that caregiving responsibilities and health issues could impact their professional journeys. This feedback signals the need for enhanced support mechanisms catering to such life events, emphasizing the importance of work-life balance initiatives.

Future Directions

Following these findings, ISFnet aims to build on the solid foundation of employee engagement while addressing the identified challenges related to future career paths and the potential impacts of caregiving and health issues. The company plans to conduct further surveys and interviews to refine its approach and continue fostering a workplace where everyone can thrive.

Through ongoing enhancements to employee support systems and clear communication about company benefits, ISFnet reaffirms its commitment to creating a workplace characterized by safety, stability, and inclusivity, ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported.
