The Vase for Bouquet: An Art Journey

From August 7 to August 30, 2025, WALL_alternative, an artistic nighttime event space operated by Avex Creator Agency, will host an enthralling art exhibition titled 'The Vase for Bouquet', commemorating Ryota Katayose’s debut solo album, Bouquet. As a key vocalist of GENERATIONS, Katayose has stepped into a new creative realm with his first solo album, marking a significant milestone as he turns 30.

This captivating exhibition showcases artworks from various artists including Kenta Kawabata, Studio Kodai, and Kohei Yamada, all of whom were introduced in Katayose's art-themed program, 'MEET YOUR ART', specifically the 'THE BASE' series. Their new works are inspired by the memories and sentiments embedded in Bouquet.

One of the highlights includes an impressive 4-meter artwork by renowned artist Takanosuke Yasui, alongside a recreated private space of Katayose that offers visitors an intimate glimpse into his artistic world. This closed room will feature an array of art pieces from Katayose's personal collection, fragrances by artist Kan Izumi, and books curated by the antique bookstore LIEB BOOKS that Katayose has directed. Attendees will experience an immersive installation that allows them to feel the presence of the artist himself.

While the explicit connections between the exhibited projects and the album remain undisclosed, they are expected to hold significant importance within the album’s narrative, making anticipation for each announcement thrilling.

Moreover, the exhibition will feature boutonnieres inspired by Bouquet, designed by LAND/ako kawamura, which will be available for sale. In the accompanying bar area, visitors can enjoy a selection of natural wines handpicked with Katayose, alongside exclusive special menus designed for the exhibition, creating a rich art appreciation experience.

Admission to the exhibition is free but requires a drink minimum, with entry tickets available from 16:00 today on a first-come, first-served basis.

On the final day, August 30, 2025, a special talk event featuring Ryota Katayose and artist Takanosuke Yasui will take place, with only 30 lucky participants able to join this intimate session.

A Message from the Organizer

This year, as Ryota Katayose celebrates the release of his first solo album Bouquet, it also marks the third anniversary of the 'MEET YOUR ART' program series, which aims to bridge the gap between entertainment and art. Katayose’s willingness to explore the depths of art and creativity is palpable within his work, and Bouquet encapsulates his introspective reflections on the first 30 years of his life.

Having stepped onto the public stage at the age of 15, Katayose has lived more than half his life in the spotlight, grappling with complicated feelings and reconnecting with his youthful self through his music and creativity. This evolution is captured beautifully within the album’s songs and various visual expressions on display.

MEET YOUR ART aims to celebrate this crucial step in Katayose's artistic journey by promoting the works of artists he has built relationships with over the years. Together, we hope to share his and their creative expressions widely.

This exhibition is merely the start; we look forward to continued collaboration with Katayose in various forms.

When I was approached to host an exhibition to mark the release of my solo album Bouquet, I felt an overwhelming sense of excitement and disbelief—it felt almost too wonderful to be true. This exhibition promises to be a stimulating and unforgettable experience, enveloped in a dream-like atmosphere.

The conversations I’ve had with artists through MEET YOUR ART have nourished my creative spirit. They bring light to rigid thoughts and allow for freer expression; their exceptional artistic representations serve as part of my own 'Bouquet'. I hope attendees will discover how these artists’ works bloom, inspired by my project.

Having held the goal of connecting art with entertainment for years, I am eager for you to experience this moment when my works begin to take shape. I warmly invite everyone to the Vase for Bouquet exhibition.

Participation Details

Purchases exceeding ¥2000 (tax incl.) made at the exhibition venue from August 7 (Thu) to August 23 (Sat) will allow customers to receive a lottery entry ticket to join the special event. Please fill out the details on the ticket and submit it in the lottery box on-site. Winners will be notified by August 26 (Tue). (Drinks do not qualify for entry).
