EECU's Generous Scholarship Program to Assist North Texas High School Graduates

EECU's Commitment to Education in North Texas

EECU, a leading credit union in North Texas, takes great pride in announcing the opening of applications for its 2026 scholarship program. Each year, EECU awards scholarships to outstanding high school seniors who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and a committed spirit toward community service.

For the 2026 academic year, EECU plans to distribute a total of $65,000 in scholarships to support 13 deserving seniors from local high schools. Each of these scholars will be awarded $5,000 in recognition of their achievements and to assist them in pursuing higher education at institutions across the nation. This initiative highlights EECU's unwavering commitment to nurturing the educational pursuits of its members and their families.

"At EECU, we believe in the power of education," shared Lonnie Nicholson, EECU's President and CEO. "We strive to make higher education more accessible and are honored to provide vital financial support to this year’s graduating class."

Since the introduction of this impactful scholarship program over 35 years ago, EECU has awarded an impressive total of more than $780,000 in scholarships to Texas students, demonstrating a long-standing dedication to educational support within the community.

EECU encourages all eligible graduating seniors to apply for this opportunity. High school teachers and administrators are invited to spread the word about the application and eligibility criteria among their students to ensure that all capable candidates are informed.

The deadline for applications for the EECU scholarship program is January 31, 2026. High school seniors who are current EECU members or have parents or guardians who are members can apply. To determine eligibility, applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, and a personal essay. Notifications for finalists will be sent out in spring 2026.
