The 138th Canton Fair Kicks Off with Focus on Innovation, Intelligence, and Sustainability
On October 15, 2025, the 138th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, officially began in Guangzhou. This renowned event has welcomed over 240,000 pre-registered buyers from 218 different markets, marking an impressive 10% increase from the previous edition. Notably, this year's fair has witnessed a significant boost in participation from buyers across the European Union, United States, and nations involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
A Strong Emphasis on Innovation
Innovation stands at the forefront of this year’s fair, boasting a record number of over 32,000 exhibitors, including around 3,600 first-time participants. The fair is set to inject fresh vitality and a diverse array of options into the global marketplace, with more than 600 new collection events planned. Impressively, 63% of the products showcased at these events incorporate cutting-edge technologies, while 48% present significant functional updates.
Introduction of the Intelligent Healthcare Zone
This year's event also marks a new chapter in the fair's evolution with the introduction of an Intelligent Healthcare Zone during Phase 3, which runs from October 31 to November 4. This dedicated area is designed to spark new growth engines for foreign trade, facilitate international collaboration, and enhance the global supply chain for healthcare. It will feature innovative solutions from 47 leading companies, ranging from medical robots to intelligent diagnostic systems. These showcases reflect the rapid growth and evolution of the global digital healthcare market.
Redefining Buyer Experience with Smart Technology
The intelligent technology theme is not only prevalent in the products on display but also in the buyer experience. A complete overhaul of the fair’s navigation services has been implemented to streamline the experience for attendees. New smart navigation tools, complex guiding systems, an AI assistant named ASK ME, and interactive kiosks have been introduced to enable effortless exploration of the exhibition. Together, these innovations aim to enhance the efficiency of buyers in exploring products and creating a more fluid shopping experience.
Sustainability Initiatives in Focus
Sustainability is a key pillar of this year’s fair, demonstrated through the showcasing of over one million eco-friendly and low-carbon footprint products. Furthermore, a pilot project for modular booth construction has been launched to reduce assembly time and costs, while minimizing environmental impacts through the use of reusable materials.
By integrating innovation, intelligence, and sustainability, the 138th Canton Fair reaffirms its essential role as a vital bridge connecting China with the rest of the world through commerce, technology, and shared opportunities. Interested attendees can register
