The 2025 National Prefectural eSports Championship: Puyo Puyo Edition
The entry period for the Puyo Puyo section of the upcoming
National Prefectural eSports Championship 2025 SHIGA has officially commenced on July 23. Organized by

Championship Details
The tournament is designed to determine the ultimate champion in Puyo Puyo, with participants representing their respective prefectures across eight blocks. The competition will kick off with the
Block Representative Deciding Matches, held online to select players who will advance to the main event in Shiga.
Scheduled for November 22 and 23, this event will take place in
Shiga Prefecture, and the winners will be crowned as the national champions. The participants will compete in both the elementary division, exclusively for young players, and an open participation division that allows competitors of all ages. Each contestant can only register for one section.
Block Representative Matches Schedule
The matches to select block representatives will occur on the following dates:
- China and Shikoku Block at 10 AM
- Kansai Block at 12 PM
- Tokai Block at 2 PM
- Kyushu and Okinawa Block at 4 PM
- Hokushinetsu Block at 10 AM
- Hokkaido and Tohoku Block at 12 PM
- Kanto Block at 2 PM
- Shiga Block at 2 PM
Hokkaido and Tohoku will send one representative, while Kanto will send two, resulting in a total of
ten players competing in the
Shiga Finals.
Shiga Finals Structure
The Shiga finals will take place at the
ProSeed Arena Hikone (Hikone Sports and Cultural Exchange Center), featuring an offline tournament format. Participants will engage in a league format for qualifications followed by a thrilling single-elimination championship round. The schedule for the finals is as follows:

Score Attack Campaign
In addition to traditional tournament play, there's an opportunity for players to enter through the
Score Attack Campaign using the “Challenge” mode of
Puyo Puyo eSports. Participants can compete by achieving high scores in a limited time – specifically, two minutes to clear as many Puyos as possible. The top scoring player from each division will receive an invitation to the finals, along with a chance to win exclusive Puyo Puyo merchandise through a lucky draw.
