Revamping the Heart of Drumming: Drum Station AKIHABARA Set to Reopen in April 2025

Drum Station AKIHABARA: Revitalizing a Cultural Hub for Drummers

Drum Station, operated by Ikebe Gakki Co., Ltd. and located in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, has proudly announced its plans to undergo a significant renovation and reopen as "Drum Station AKIHABARA" on April 19, 2025. This renovation marks the 50th anniversary of Ikebe Gakki and aims to transform the store into a vibrant hub for drummers of all skill levels.

A Fresh Look with Enhanced Services

The newly remodeled store will feature an expanded inventory catering to the diverse needs of drumming enthusiasts. Aside from a wide range of products, Drum Station AKIHABARA will introduce a consultation counter designed to assist customers with everything from simple inquiries to intricate custom orders. Professional staff members will ensure personalized service, addressing the unique requirements of each drummer.

Additionally, the store will unveil a cutting-edge digital signage area featuring three large screens to provide the latest news on artists and product launches from various brands. This initiative aims to deliver timely information to customers, showcasing the store’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the drumming community.

A Legacy of Commitment to Drumming

Originally opened in May 2001 as "Drum Station Revole Akihabara," the store has evolved over the past 24 years into a well-respected establishment within the drumming world, serving both amateur and professional drummers. It has expanded its reach with locations in Shibuya and Osaka, continually answering the needs of its customers.

The relocation to its current site in December 2006 solidified its position as a key player in the music retail industry. However, the recent global pandemic prompted the team at Drum Station to reassess the way they connect with customers, leading them to prioritize the in-store experience more than ever.

According to a statement from the management, “Our goal is to create a space where customers can come at any time, test products extensively, and encounter new items and concepts — experiences that only a physical store can truly offer.” Thus, the revitalization of Drum Station AKIHABARA will respect its rich history while adapting to modern expectations.

Celebratory Events and Exciting Offers

In honor of the grand reopening, Drum Station AKIHABARA will host a variety of special promotions, including sales, coupons, and giveaways. Among the highlights:
  • - Reuse Special Bargain: An extensive collection of unique used drum kits, snares, cymbals, and pedals will be available for customers, ensuring something special can be found for drum enthusiasts.
