TricorBraun Acquires European Packaging Leaders Euroglas and Glaspack

TricorBraun's Expansion in Europe through Strategic Acquisitions

In a significant move to strengthen its market position, TricorBraun, a leader in packaging solutions, announced the acquisition of two prominent European companies: Euroglas and Glaspack. This strategic acquisition, announced on January 8, 2025, marks a pivotal inflection point for TricorBraun in expanding its presence in the DACH region, which encompasses Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The Companies: Euroglas and Glaspack

Euroglas, based in Germany, and Glaspack, headquartered in Austria, are both renowned suppliers of rigid packaging solutions, having built reputations for quality and innovation since their establishment in 1992.

Euroglas is recognized as a major supplier of high-quality glass packaging across Europe, providing existing and customized packaging options for the food, beverage, and liquor sectors. Glaspack complements this with focused offerings in the wine, beer, and food packaging sectors and holds a significant market position as a leading wine packaging provider in Austria.

Mark O'Bryan, TricorBraun's Chief Operating Officer, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the acquisition, stating, "Euroglas and Glaspack are companies known for their quality, innovation, and customer service, having established enduring businesses with impressive reputations. Their expertise combined with TricorBraun's supply chain capabilities will foster new growth opportunities for our clients in Europe."

Continuing Business Operations

The acquisition allows Euroglas and Glaspack to maintain their local operations and customer commitments under the TricorBraun umbrella. Following the completion of the transaction, Euroglas will operate under its existing name as part of TricorBraun, while Glaspack will also retain its name in association with TricorBraun.

This business continuity ensures that clients will continue to receive the high level of service they have come to expect from Euroglas and Glaspack, while also benefiting from the vast resources and global expertise that TricorBraun offers.

Cristoph Jäckle, CEO of Euroglas, noted, “Joining TricorBraun is an exciting new chapter for us. Together, we can provide global resources and insights while upholding our commitment to quality and local customer service.” On a similar note, Johannes Jäckle, Head of Sales, highlighted their shared enthusiasm toward enhancing their passion for packaging through this partnership.

Future Measurements

The transaction is projected to close in the first quarter of 2025, contingent on obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals. With a team of over 2,200 packaging professionals across more than 100 locations worldwide, TricorBraun aims to leverage its extensive network to accelerate growth and innovation in the European market.

Proventis Partners, a member of Mergers Alliance, acted as the financial advisor for TricorBraun while Linklaters provided legal counsel throughout the transaction.
