About Label Betty
Label Betty aims to create a space where unseen films can meet their audiences, especially after the challenges faced during the pandemic that led to the closure of many theaters in Tokyo. The collective's mission is to re-establish a love for cinema in a world that increasingly distances itself from such shared experiences.
Activities
The organization also hosted the Intercollegiate Film Festival in September 2024, connecting film clubs across the Tokyo region and supporting numerous student filmmakers. Moreover, Label Betty successfully exceeded its funding goal through crowdfunding efforts and has since seen a rise in collaborations among film societies across universities.
The launch of their podcast in December 2024 further exemplifies their efforts to engage with cultural discourse around filmmaking and cinema.
