Blessed Provisions Hosts 1st Annual Frederick Diaper Drive to Combat Hygiene Poverty
As part of National Diaper Need Awareness Week, Blessed Provisions Diaper & Toiletry Bank is excited to host its inaugural Frederick Diaper Drive on September 20, 2025. The event will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the C. Burr Artz Public Library, located at 101 E. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701. This initiative aims to raise awareness and collect essential supplies for families struggling with hygiene poverty in Frederick County.
Blessed Provisions is the only dedicated diaper bank in this area, providing diapers and hygiene essentials to organizations and families in need. The stark reality is that nearly 50% of U.S. families with young children face challenges in affording enough diapers to keep their kids clean, dry, and healthy. This is an issue of dignity, and the community is encouraged to come together to help. Attendees can bring donations of diapers in all sizes, including pull-ups, as well as wipes and feminine hygiene products.
The founder, Priscilla Myles, was inspired to tackle diaper need after realizing the significant gap in access to basic hygiene essentials in her local area. In 2021, she began organizing diaper drives at her church, which eventually led to the launch of Blessed Provisions, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing hygiene poverty. "Our mission at Blessed Provisions is to ensure no family in Frederick County has to go without basic hygiene essentials. This drive is not just about diapers—it's about dignity and community care," says Priscilla.
After attending community training sessions, Priscilla discovered that Frederick County lacked a dedicated diaper and toiletry bank, which prompted her to create Blessed Provisions Inc. in July 2025. The organization works tirelessly to provide families with the necessary hygiene products that many take for granted.
This upcoming diaper drive is a critical milestone for the community, as it not only addresses immediate needs but also fosters a spirit of unity and support among residents. Donations will directly impact families and children who otherwise might go without these essentials.
To further understand the importance of this cause, it's essential to recognize the statistics. Many families in low-income brackets face barriers that make affording diapers and related items nearly impossible. This can lead to untenable situations where parents may have to choose between purchasing food or diapers.
At the 1st Annual Frederick Diaper Drive, local residents can participate in a significant way by contributing any items they can spare. Community spirit is vital, and the organizers are hopeful for a strong turnout.
For those unable to attend but still wishing to contribute, Blessed Provisions has options for monetary donations through their website. These funds go directly to purchasing life-saving hygiene essentials.
As the date approaches, community leaders and organizers are mobilizing efforts to ensure a successful event that will help raise awareness about hygiene poverty and encourage neighboring towns to hold similar drives in the future.
