Europe ranks second, leading in the number of projects and experiencing a notable investment growth rate of 35% since 2025. The United States stands as a leader in the application of low-carbon hydrogen, contributing to approximately 75% of global capacities committed for low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia.
Future Challenges
The experiences of these leading markets point to upcoming challenges, particularly regarding project advancement in regions with supportive political frameworks and well-developed infrastructure. It is estimated that a potential demand for clean hydrogen could be around 11 Mtpa by 2030, but current policies in place secure approximately 6 Mtpa of this demand. To unlock the remaining 5 Mtpa, prompt governmental action is essential to deliver on existing commitments.
