Introduction to Orinami
Located just a short 5-minute walk from Senso-ji Temple,
Orinami is a unique hand-weaving experience facility operated by San Kei Co., Ltd. This establishment recently enhanced its capacity to accommodate school trips and outdoor learning groups by offering tailored plans aimed at educational institutions and travel agencies. With the rising interest in experiencing local culture and traditional crafts during school trips, Orinami is well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for experiential learning.
Creating Lasting Memories
At Orinami, participants can craft a one-of-a-kind amulet using threads consecrated at a local shrine, allowing them to engage with the Japanese art of fabric-making while appreciating the country’s rich cultural heritage. By selecting their own colors of threads, participants can weave fabric to create a personalized amulet pouch, experiencing the joy of craftsmanship that is intrinsic to Japanese tradition.
Historical Context of Cotton in Japan
Furthermore, Orinami offers insights into the history of cotton's introduction to Japan, enriching the experience with cultural knowledge. With the expected opening of new locations in June 2024 and June 2025 in Asakusa and Asakusa Park respectively, Orinami has already hosted around 30,000 participants, including approximately 10,000 international tourists eager to immerse themselves in Japanese culture. The facility also proudly reports an impressive participation count of around 100 students from school trips and educational outings.

The new special plans include two variations of the amulet-making experience:

Convenient Location
Both stores are conveniently located within walking distance of Senso-ji Temple, making them easy to integrate into school trip itineraries. Additionally, Hanakawado Park, situated in front of the Asakusa Park store, serves as an excellent meeting point for groups, facilitating smoother experiences for both teachers and tour guides.
Direct Reservations and Invoicing
Orinami also supports direct bookings with invoicing compliance for schools and travel companies. However, bookings made through travel sites like "Jalan" would have different payment arrangements, and Orinami cannot issue receipts for those transactions.
A Gateway to Japanese Craft
Orinami is designed for both novices and seasoned artisans seeking to engage with Japan's hand-weaving culture. Open to participants of all ages, from elementary students to adults, this experience empowers visitors to create their personalized amulets.
