Huawei and IEEE Unveil Wi-Fi 7 Advanced
At the Huawei Network Summit 2025, hosted in Munich, Huawei introduced the highly anticipated
Wi-Fi 7 Advanced Technology White Paper. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with IEEE and various industry pioneers, marks a significant leap in wireless networking technology, showcasing innovations that aim to enhance connectivity, security, and overall digital productivity.
The White Paper highlights pivotal features of the Wi-Fi 7 Advanced technology. One of the standout innovations is the
80 MHz continuous multi-AP networking capability, which enables seamless integration of communication, sensing, and IoT technologies across various applications. This creates a robust ecosystem suitable for the growing demands of modern enterprises.
Dr. Edward Au, the Technical Editor for IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7), commented, “Wi-Fi 7 Advanced enables APs to create campus networks that seamlessly integrate communication, sensing, and IoT. This enhances campus experiences, strengthens security, and boosts digital productivity, making the entire campus more intelligent, secure, and efficient.”
Wi-Fi 7 Advanced introduces three unique features that significantly elevate user experiences:
1.
Superfast Seamless Connectivity
The technology incorporates Intelligent Coordinated Scheduling and Spatial Reuse (iCSSR), enabling a scaled-up 80 MHz networking configuration. This effectively doubles the data rates for single users, ensuring high-speed connectivity essential for applications like AR-assisted workflows. The implementation of VIP FastPass technology guarantees minimal latency for crucial operations, collectively pushing enterprise office networking capacities to 10 Gbps—ideal for future-ready work environments.
2.
Creation of Intelligent Spaces
The advancement integrates Wi-Fi, sensing capabilities, and IoT to facilitate the development of intelligent environments. With features such as Wi-Fi sensing detecting human presence, systems can communicate with building management infrastructures for enhanced energy efficiencies. Utilizing mmWave technology, vital signs can be monitored continuously. Additionally, the Standardized IoT (SD-IoT) approach shortens deployment times and reduces operational costs, making these intelligent solutions more accessible.
3.
Comprehensive Security Measures
A paramount aspect of the Wi-Fi 7 Advanced technology is its focus on security. The system implements Wi-Fi Shield, which utilizes AI-driven signal scrambling to safeguard critical information against potential breaches. Furthermore, Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI) sensing accurately identifies intrusions, facilitating real-time security measures. Unique features, such as a full-band scanning capability to detect hidden cameras, empower a single access point (AP) to protect privacy rigorously and safeguard proprietary information.
Shawn Zhao, President of the Campus Network Domain at Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, remarked, “Underpinned by Wi-Fi 7 Advanced, Huawei Xinghe AI Campus enhances communication efficacy with its 10Gbps connectivity while integrating communication and sensing capabilities. This mechanism stimulates innovative upgrades across diverse sectors and delivers all-encompassing security from the digital realm to physical environments, resulting in efficient, intelligent, and secure campus networks.”
Looking ahead, Huawei remains committed to advancing campus network technology and will continue to forge partnerships within Europe to facilitate the digital transformation of businesses.
