Featured Pear Varieties
Fukuoka: Gyokusui (玉水)
Developed over ten years, Gyokusui debuted in 2022 and is among the rarest pears in Japan. This smaller pear might be diminutive, but it is packed with flavor, boasting a sugar content 1-2 degrees higher than other pears sold during the same period, which gives it a notably sweet taste and a crisp texture.
Ibaraki: Keisui (恵水)
Originating from a cross between "Shin'yuki" and "Chikusui", this regional original variety has been expanding its production gradually since its first commercial output in 2016. Keisui pears are characterized by their fruity aroma,Juicy interior, and the perfect blend of sweetness with very little acidity, presenting a satisfying crunch that makes them enjoyable for all ages.
Tochigi: Nikkori Pear (にっこり梨)
This red pear variety is a delightful fusion of “Shinko” and “Toyosui”. The name Nikkori cleverly combines the famous Tochigi sightseeing spot “Nikko” and the Chinese word for pear, “li”. Loved for its juicy texture and robust sweetness, the Nikkori Pear is a firm favorite across generations.
Saitama: Saigyoku (彩玉)
Saigyoku, developed by the Saitama Agricultural Technology Research Center, is an original variety of Saitama, born from the union of “Shinko” and “Toyosui”. This pear can only be produced by local farmers as it is a certified Saitama brand. It is known for being large and juicily bursting with flavor, offering a pleasurable experience as its sweetness floods your mouth.
Tottori: Shinkansen (新甘泉)
This red pear variety, cultivated by the Tottori Horticultural Experiment Station, is a hybrid between "Chikusui" and the variety "Osa 20th century". It features a big size, high sugar content, has low acidity, and stands out due to its early harvest season. The pears are picked using a light sensor to ensure optimal sugar level and ripeness.

Nansui, hailing from Takamori Town in Nagano, is a staple pear known for its crisp texture and lasting sweetness. With an average sugar content of over 14 degrees, it’s an ideal choice for anyone looking for an exceptionally sweet pear bursting with juice.
