Introducing the Ten Startups Selected for the Forge Accelerator Program in Tokyo

Forge Accelerator Program: Empowering Innovative Startups

The Forge Accelerator Program, a pivotal initiative aimed at nurturing hardware startups, has officially announced the selection of ten innovative companies for its first cohort. Operated by TSI, this program is part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s TIB CATAPULT project, designed to establish Tokyo as a global magnet for startup innovation.

Selection Process and Upcoming Plans

After an intensive selection phase that included informational sessions on September 12, 2025, and a recruitment window from September 1 to October 10, the ten startups were chosen through a rigorous evaluation involving document reviews and interviews.

The selected startups will receive practical, hands-on support for about 12 months, covering various aspects such as prototype development, proof-of-concept (PoC) design, access to investors, and collaboration with manufacturing partners. The first phase of the program, set to conclude by the end of this year, will focus on determining prototype directions and preparing for PoCs. Out of the initial ten, five startups that excel in these tasks will progress to the second phase, concentrating on implementing prototypes and fostering connections with large corporations and investors.

Furthermore, a demo day will be held in March 2026, inviting Japanese investors and stakeholders, followed by ongoing hands-on support until August 2026 to ensure sustained growth and success for the startups involved.
