Telkomsel Expands Hyper AI 5G Network in Greater Jakarta

With the rollout of the Hyper 5G network, Telkomsel covers crucial routes within and around Jakarta, including Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma airports, Pantai Indah Kapuk’s master-planned areas, and key business and government centers from Pondok Indah to the National Monument (Monas). Plans for gradual, strategic expansion to other significant locations across Indonesia are also underway.

The advanced Hyper 5G technology boasts Internet speeds up to four times faster than 4G, enhanced reliability, the ability to connect more devices, and low latency. Since its commercial launch in 2021, Telkomsel's Hyper 5G network has evolved into Indonesia's most extensive and advanced network, accommodating over 1,400 5G base stations (BTS) across 56 cities and districts, driving the nation’s digital transformation.

"The Hyper AI system delivers optimal service quality, contributing to the best customer experiences, even in crowded situations during the busy NARU (Christmas and New Year) period at strategic Hyper 5G sites," Indra explained.

Telkomsel's low latency environment supports the Hyper AI strategy, particularly evident in customer service enhancements through AI-driven virtual assistants. The internal virtual assistant, Veronika (for B2C) and Ted (for B2B), are seamlessly integrated into the AI Service Operations Center, allowing for prompt and effective customer support while advancing the service experience in the dynamic 5G landscape.

During the NARU period, Telkomsel anticipates a surge in data traffic by 14.8%, projecting overall data consumption to reach 1,981 petabytes. A comprehensive optimization of infrastructure for both 4G/LTE and 5G networks, backed by rigorous network testing on key routes and at strategic locations, is being implemented to enhance customer access to digital services.
