Chicago Auto Show 2025: A Family-Focused Finale



As the 2025 Chicago Auto Show heads into its concluding weekend, excitement is palpable among attendees soaking up the vibrant atmosphere at McCormick Place. Running from February 8th to 17th, this year marks the 117th edition of the esteemed auto exhibition, which has already drawn in thousands of visitors. With the Presidents Day long weekend ahead, it anticipates an engaging finale featuring a plethora of family-friendly activities.

Kelly Webb Roberts, chairwoman of the Chicago Auto Show, highlighted the event's appeal: "This cherished winter tradition offers something for everyone, whether one is searching for a new vehicle, keen to learn about the latest automotive trends, or looking for a delightful outing with family and friends." This year's focus includes the newly introduced Family Zone, designed to create a safe and enjoyable environment for families at the show.

In the Family Zone, younger attendees can engage in a variety of fun activities, including:
  • - Kids' Power Wheels track for miniature driving experiences.
  • - A dedicated station by the Secretary of State to create kid's IDs, along with cornhole games and photo opportunities featuring cardboard cutouts.
  • - A toy replica of the Chevy Silverado for aspiring truck enthusiasts.
  • - Fishing simulations with the Toyota Tacoma.
  • - Creative activities like coloring and origami with Rivian.
  • - A test track for kids featuring Tesla vehicles.
  • - An educational exhibit focused on child car seat safety.
  • - An interactive Touch-a-Truck display from the City of Chicago.
  • - A caricature artist capturing attendees' likenesses.
  • - The Kia pop-a-shot basketball challenge for some sporty fun.

The show also provides opportunities for visitors to experience driving various vehicles firsthand at one of the four indoor test tracks.
