Michael Reyes Expands KidStrong Franchise with New 46-Unit Agreement

Michael Reyes Expands His Commitment to KidStrong Franchise

In a noteworthy step forward for child development franchises, Michael Reyes, a franchise owner at KidStrong, has recently signed a substantial area development agreement that will see the establishment of 46 new units across the East Coast. This expansion builds upon Reyes’ already impressive portfolio, which includes 17 operational KidStrong centers and four additional ones currently under construction.

Transitioning from Sales to Franchise Ownership

Reyes’ journey into the world of franchising began just four years ago when he transitioned from a career in enterprise sales to open his first KidStrong center. His transition has been remarkably successful, and through his management company, NextGen Holdings, Reyes has swiftly become one of the most active multi-unit operators in the KidStrong franchise network.

According to Reyes, the decision to expand was not merely a leap of faith; instead, it was a calculated move based on hard data and performance metrics. “When we see the same model succeed in various markets—from New York to North Carolina—it reassures us of its sustainability. The risk lies in underestimating our potential,” Reyes explained.

A Shift in Leadership Role

As his franchise operations grow, Reyes has noted a significant shift in his own role from that of a hands-on operator to a company builder. Initially involved in daily operations at each center, he now focuses on broader company leadership, team building, and maintaining the high standards that KidStrong is known for. “I can't be everywhere anymore. My priority is ensuring the leadership at NextGen is upholding our values and delivering an excellent experience for every family walking through our doors,” he stated.

To facilitate this transition, Reyes has developed a robust management team that includes executive, regional, and center-level leaders. He attributes his involvement in KidStrong’s Franchise Advisory Council as an influential factor in shaping the brand's growth strategy, emphasizing the importance of strategic location selection to maximize efficiency in hiring and enhancing brand visibility.

Commitment to Quality Coaching

Reyes is adamant about the critical role that quality coaching and local management play in the success of KidStrong centers. “A center's success hinges on the caliber of the coach and the local leadership team. We are focused on creating an environment where families feel welcomed—before, during, and after classes. Everything we’ve built aims to empower our coaches and managers to deliver outstanding experiences daily,” he stressed.

KidStrong’s National Growth Strategy

Josh Patrick, KidStrong's Chief Development Officer, lauded Reyes’ expansion as a reflection of the type of operator KidStrong is seeking as the brand scales nationally. “Mike exemplifies the values and diligence we look for,” he highlighted. “His disciplined approach to growth ensures that he invests in great people while keeping the family experience central to his operations.”

This latest agreement marks one of KidStrong's most significant development commitments yet. With further expansions planned along the East Coast, Reyes is set on prioritizing the development of a leadership team capable of sustaining long-term growth rather than merely increasing the number of units.
