Greentown Labs Welcomes Julia Travaglini as New Head of Boston Incubator
Greentown Labs, recognized as the largest incubator for climatetech and energy startups globally, has officially appointed Julia Travaglini as the Head of its Boston incubator. This decision marks a significant step for Greentown as it aims to enhance its innovation capabilities and forge stronger connections within the ecosystem of climate innovation.
A Strong Leadership Transition
Having been an integral part of Greentown Labs for over a decade, Travaglini has demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment to supporting entrepreneurs. Previously serving in several roles, including Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, she has been pivotal in shaping Greentown’s brand strategy and organizing critical events that foster community and collaboration. With Julia at the helm, Greentown Boston is anticipated to grow even further in its mission to expedite the launch of climate-focused solutions.
Georgina Campbell Flatter, CEO of Greentown, expressed her confidence in Travaglini’s capabilities, stating, “She has played an immense role in making Greentown the place and community it is today.” Her appointment is expected to further solidify the organization's role as a beacon for climate innovation, inspiring startups to push the envelope of climatetech.
Focus on Entrepreneurial Success
As the new Head of Boston, Travaglini’s role will primarily focus on ensuring the success of over 140 startups within Greentown’s ecosystem. By providing access to top-tier labs, specialized services, and unique pathways for founders, her leadership is expected to serve as a catalyst for rapid growth and innovation. Travaglini plans to keep the energy high, stating, “We take great pride in this work, and I'm energized by what lies ahead—supporting more startups, expanding our offerings, and continuing to grow the climatetech ecosystem here in Massachusetts.”
Under her guidance, Greentown Boston will serve as a supportive environment where climatetech founders receive not just infrastructure but also the community and storytelling opportunities necessary for further development.
Commitment to a Sustainable Future
Before immersing herself in Greentown Labs full-time, Travaglini gained valuable experience as a Senior Account Executive at HB Agency, where she worked closely with Greentown from 2013 to 2015. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and marketing from Quinnipiac University, which complements her wide-ranging expertise in the field.
In addition to Travaglini’s promotion, Greentown has made additional strategic appointments within its leadership. Aisling Carlson now holds the position of Chief Growth Officer, while Greg Ralich takes the lead in Startup Success at Greentown Boston. These changes underscore Greentown’s commitment to fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.
