Inoac Donates Educational Manga to Schools

Inoac Corporation is marking its 100th anniversary by launching a new educational manga titled Secrets of Urethane, produced in collaboration with Gakken. This initiative aims to enlighten elementary school students about the fundamental role urethane foam plays in their daily lives.

As a pioneering company that began the production of urethane foam in Japan, Inoac has taken the initiative to produce this manga as part of its commitment to educational outreach. The publication aims to help children understand the diverse applications and importance of urethane foam.

Secrets of Urethane is being donated to around 20,000 elementary schools, including special needs institutions, and approximately 3,200 public libraries and 800 children's centers across the nation. Gakken, renowned for its educational manga series, has been developing easy-to-understand and engaging materials for over 40 years. This latest edition will be part of the beloved Learn with Manga Series, which focuses on relatable themes.

An Engaging Learning Experience

The story follows elementary school students, Souta and Rei, as they encounter an unusual urethane spirit named Moko. The children discover that numerous urethane spirits have gone missing, leading to a diminishing supply of this essential material. Together with Moko, they embark on an adventure to locate the spirits, visiting various factories and research labs to learn how urethane foam is produced and utilized.

Through dynamic storytelling, the manga reveals exciting facts about urethane foam—its manufacturing processes, functions, and future potential. It even incorporates discussions on sustainable practices related to production and recycling, showcasing Inoac's commitment to social contribution and eco-friendly initiatives.

The manga is not intended for commercial sale and is available for free viewing at public libraries nationwide. Furthermore, it can also be accessed digitally via Gakken's dedicated websites, ensuring a broader reach for educational purposes. Explore here: Gakken Manga Library and Gakken Kids Net.
