Synology Unveils Next-Gen RackStation Models for Enterprise Needs

Synology Launches New RackStation Models

Synology has officially introduced its new range of RackStation models—RS6426xs+, RS4826xs+, and RS3626xs—on May 7, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan. Designed to meet the demands of modern enterprises, these units offer robust performance and reliability for data management, backup, and large-scale virtualization storage.

Enhancing IT Infrastructure

In today’s fast-evolving IT landscape, complexities are increasing. Organizations require infrastructures that are not only reliable and versatile but can also adapt to changing needs dynamically. Peggy Weng, Synology's Product Manager, highlighted the importance of these systems in enhancing team collaboration and synchronizing operations across multiple locations. By doing so, businesses can better protect production environments and efficiently deploy virtualization storage for high-performance workloads.

Superior System Performance

The latest RackStation models set new benchmarks for enterprise workloads. The RS6426xs+ boasts impressive write I/O responsiveness, achieving up to 165,000 IOPS, while the RS4826xs+ and RS3626xs+ offer performance of 135,000 IOPS and 115,000 IOPS, respectively. Each model supports petabyte-level scalability; for instance, the RS6426xs+ can expand up to an astonishing 1,536TB via four RX1225RP expansion units. Additionally, all models come with dual 10GbE ports as standard, with options to upgrade to 25GbE or Fibre Channel.

Ensuring High Availability

To maximize reliability, these models include dual power supplies for hardware redundancy and support Synology High Availability (SHA) for failover within minutes. Maintenance tasks are streamlined with features such as hot-swappable drives and online volume expansion, while out-of-band (OOB) management allows remote troubleshooting by administrators even when the system is powered off.

Optimizing Storage Efficiency

Storage efficiency has been significantly enhanced through automated data tiering. This intelligent feature moves active data to high-performance drives, while less active data is transferred to large-capacity storage, thereby automating the balance between performance and capacity. By eliminating the need for manual data management, users can maintain the highest operational efficiency.

Availability Timeline

The RS6426xs+, RS4826xs+, and RS3626xs are set to be available globally through Synology’s network of partners and resellers starting May 7, 2026. Interested parties can find more details on the respective product pages for each model.

Important Notes

  • - Performance figures are based on internal testing by Synology. Actual performance may vary depending on testing environments, usage conditions, and configurations.
  • - Capacity calculations assume the use of 24TB drives, and actual storage available may vary based on the drives and RAID configurations used.
  • - The Synology RX1225RP expansion unit is sold separately.
  • - For a complete and up-to-date list of compatible NICs, HBAs, and other accessories, please refer to the compatibility list.
