QinetiQ US Secures $42 Million Contract to Enhance U.S. Army Sensor Technologies

QinetiQ US Awarded $42 Million Task Order to Support U.S. Army

In a significant advancement for military technology, QinetiQ US has secured a substantial four-year, $42 million task order aimed at bolstering the U.S. Army's advanced sensor processing and imaging capabilities. This initiative is in partnership with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) C5ISR Center, specifically targeting the Research and Technology Integration Directorate. The award, part of the Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3) IDIQ contract, underscores the Army's commitment to modernization and technological superiority in defense operations.

The task involves the ongoing development and refinement of intelligent sensor processing technologies and advanced imaging systems. QinetiQ US is tasked with delivering cutting-edge embedded solutions that meet the evolving Research and Development (R&D) needs of the C5ISR Center. Key focuses of this endeavor include enhancing Aided Target Recognition (AiTR) functionalities, improving signal and image processing algorithms, and creating innovative software applications tailored for military use. Additionally, the company will carry out testing and integration processes to evaluate these technological advancements within operational frameworks.

According to Jonathan Riksen, the executive vice president and general manager of QinetiQ US’ National and Global Security Solutions division, this award exemplifies the company's dedication to driving innovation in sensor technology while strategically supporting the Army's modernization objectives. “By harnessing our expertise in intelligent sensor processing and imaging systems, we're facilitating the Army's development of next-generation capabilities critical to initiatives such as the Next Generation Combat Vehicle, Future Vertical Lift, and Soldier Lethality programs,” Riksen stated. This project aims to ensure that military personnel are equipped with the most advanced technologies available, providing them with a tactical edge on the battlefield.

QinetiQ is positioning itself as a vital partner in enhancing the Army’s sensor and imaging capabilities. Leveraging substantial expertise in developing imaging systems—including innovative components like micro-displays—the company is dedicated to significantly contributing to the C5ISR Center, DEVCOM, Army Futures Command, and the future of military sensor operations.
