Cosmo Energy Group Conducts Earthquake BCP Training

On October 1, 2025, the Cosmo Energy Group, comprising Cosmo Energy Holdings, Cosmo Oil, and Cosmo Oil Marketing, executed a joint earthquake Business Continuity Plan (BCP) training. This initiative underscores the group's commitment to ensuring a steady supply of petroleum products, especially in the face of natural disasters like significant earthquakes.

The training focused on fine-tuning disaster response capabilities, with a scenario based on the hypothetical occurrence of a 'Nankai Trough Mega Earthquake.' Key objectives included enhancing overall disaster response efficiency and reinforcing the group's sustainable crisis management capabilities.

The training placed emphasis on initial response actions following an earthquake and formulating policies for the supply and distribution of petroleum products amid disaster conditions. Participants utilized a dashboard system that visually presented disaster information, allowing for effective online communication and information sharing. This approach enabled the team to validate the practicality and effectiveness of their BCP approaches in simulated emergency situations.

To ensure an objective assessment of the training outcomes, the group collaborated with third-party organizations. These external evaluators helped in identifying challenges and weaknesses, which the Cosmo Energy Group aims to analyze and address to further enhance the effectiveness of their BCP.
