In a pioneering step towards enhancing emergency medical responses, Canon Marketing Japan has announced the launch of their new automated AED (Automated External Defibrillator) set to be available from April 30, 2025. This innovative device doesn't require the rescuer to press a shock button, thus streamlining the process of providing critical aid during heart emergencies. The Need for Automated AEDs

Traditional AEDs require rescuers to receive signals instructing them to administer a shock, which can lead to barriers in executing timely responses. Human factors such as stress and uncertainty can impact the rescuer’s ability to act quickly and efficiently. The automated AED addresses these concerns by autonomously delivering a shock if necessary, enabling a more reliable and effective lifesaving process.

Canon MJ is set to supply two models of automated AEDs starting April 30, 2025: the 'AED-3250' produced by Nihon Kohden Corporation and the 'ZOLL AED 3 Autoshock' produced by Asahi Kasei ZOLL Medical.
