CenCore Secures $19 Million Contract for Innovative Mobile SCIF Development
CenCore’s Innovative Mobile SCIF Contract with the Department of Defense
CenCore, based in Springville, Utah, recently achieved a major milestone by securing a $19 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). This agreement, facilitated in collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL), aims at developing groundbreaking mobile Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) tailored for military operations.
These state-of-the-art mobile SCIFs are designed to operate at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level, representing a first of its kind for the U.S. Marine Corps under the Project 7/11 initiative. Project 7/11 is a forward-operating scheme intended to enable rapid deployment of CenCore’s containerized secure units (CSUs), commonly referred to as mobile SCIFs, to various battlefield environments. The innovative approach embraces agile methodologies to ensure that military personnel can access secure communications and computing capabilities wherever needed.
CenCore’s CSUs boast cutting-edge technology and are the only TS/SCI and Special Access Programs (SAP-level) units exclusively manufactured in the U.S. The production, which takes place in Aurora, Colorado, not only highlights the company’s dedication to quality and security but also contributes positively to local employment by supporting the U.S. military and intelligence sectors.
By integrating these mobile SCIFs, CenCore seeks to provide secure edge computing, mission command functionalities, and resilient communication tools for military operations in challenging and austere conditions. The deployment of these units aligns with the U.S. Marine Corps’ modernization strategy, aiming to enhance the Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) systems across all military domains. This initiative reflects a progressive step towards a fully integrated and responsive command framework that improves operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Adam Fife, the CEO of CenCore, expressed pride in this recognition as a secure and effective provider for the DoD and MCWL. Fife stated, “This milestone marks a significant achievement for CenCore as a recognized program of record for the U.S. DoD and the USMC. CenCore delivers unparalleled speed, survivability, and integration at the TS/SCI level, while being entirely made in the U.S.”
CenCore’s steadfast commitment to innovation is underscored by its tech-agnostic and open-source security solutions. The focus on delivering high-performance, cost-effective security systems over superficial attributes exemplifies CenCore’s understanding of the complex and evolving threat landscape faced by military personnel today. These efforts not only support national security objectives but also aim to create more job opportunities in the American workforce, as they respond to the growing need for rapid deployment of secure military infrastructure.
Aimed at enhancing military readiness and response time, CenCore’s mobile SCIFs will equip units with versatile solutions capable of being dispatched quickly, ensuring that U.S. service members can maintain critical operations in any location without lengthy delays. This approach redefines how military and intelligence operations can be conducted in the field, ushering in a new era of mobile security solutions.
In conclusion, the contract awarded to CenCore underscores an important chapter in the synergy between defense innovation and employment growth. It showcases how collaborative efforts between private industry and military organizations can yield advanced solutions that benefit the operational capabilities of the U.S. armed forces while bolstering local economies.
