TCL Solar C2 Panels Hit the European Market

TCL SunPower Global has officially launched its new range of C2 back contact solar panels in Europe, offering a significant advancement in solar technology. Introduced at the SNEC and Intersolar Europe trade fairs earlier this year, the C2 panels are designed to optimize efficiency and durability, making them perfect for various applications including residential, commercial, and large-scale photovoltaic plants.

Strengthening Solar Solutions

This launch sees the first shipments of the C2 series arriving in the UK this week, with further distribution planned across major European markets in the coming weeks. The C2 series features two configurations built on advanced back contact cell technology. The C2 S Black model caters to residential installations and small commercial projects, boasting an impressive output of up to 495 W and a remarkable efficiency rating of 23.8%. In contrast, the C2 L and C2 L UPP models are tailored for larger commercial projects and utility-scale plants, reaching power outputs of up to 670 W with an efficiency of up to 24.8%.

Technology Behind the C2 Series

The innovative design of the C2 panels involves a full-surface back contact layout, which eliminates the need for front-facing metal busbars. This not only reduces shading and increases usable power density by more than 5% compared to traditional front contact configurations but also enhances aesthetic appeal, particularly in the C2 S Black version that features an entirely black surface. According to Steven Zhang, CEO of TCL SunPower Global, this advancement reflects the company’s commitment to redefining industry standards in solar technology across Europe.

Sustainable and Efficient Performance

The C2 panels are not only designed for performance but also for sustainability. With a temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C and an annual degradation rate of less than 0.35%, these modules are projected to retain around 88.85% of their original power output after 30 years of use. Each C2 module comes with a robust warranty, including up to 25 years of product warranty and a 30-year power warranty, depending on the specific model.

Improved Energy Performance

The entire C2 lineup promises higher efficiency levels even under low light conditions, offering reduced energy losses from partial shading compared to conventional technologies. This performance is encapsulated in the C2 motto: “Better by Design.” The unique design approach, merging aesthetics with functionality, sets it apart from competing products.

The TCL Solar C2 panels are now accessible through authorized distributors throughout Europe. Installers and commercial buyers can find their nearest distributor by using the locator tool available on the TCL Solar website.
