Asahi Life's 100-Year Project: Comprehensive Support for Care and Dementia
Asahi Life Insurance Mutual Company is set to launch its innovative "Everyone's Assurance 100-Year Project" in April 2026, aiming to address pressing social issues surrounding caregiving and dementia. Collaborating with BIPROGY and Cambridge Technology Partners, this initiative will not only outline business concepts but will also provide a seamless one-stop support service from planning to execution. This includes the creation of a new portal website that utilizes the decentralized inter-enterprise data distribution platform, "Dot to Dot," which facilitates secure data sharing among various stakeholders.
Addressing Social Challenges
Currently, about 7 million people in Japan require support or care—a number expected to swell to around 9.5 million by 2030. Alarmingly, projections suggest that one in three individuals aged 65 and older will exhibit mild cognitive impairment or dementia, which could result in an asset freeze totaling approximately 318 trillion yen. In addition, business caregivers often struggle to balance work and family care responsibilities, with economic losses projected to exceed 9 trillion yen by 2030 due to this dual burden.
In response to these challenges, Asahi Life is determined to confront the reality that monetary compensation alone will not resolve the issues tied to caregiving. Hence, they are launching their
"Everyone's Assurance 100-Year Project," designed to provide comprehensive caregiving solutions that go beyond financial support.
Overview of the 100-Year Project
The project aims to create an ecosystem for caregiving and dementia support that encompasses everything from early detection to financial management and information dissemination. The dedicated portal,
"Everyone's Assurance Care and Dementia Navigator," along with the support from sales personnel, aims to instill confidence in families that they can turn to Asahi Life for all their caregiving needs.
BIPROGY Group's Support Role
BIPROGY is providing end-to-end support, from developing the project concept to building the portal site, leveraging their extensive expertise in data ecosystem development for expedited results. Both BIPROGY and Cambridge have contributed to the project through various key areas:
1.
Co-Creation and Business Support: BIPROGY played an instrumental role in developing the caregiving and dementia ecosystem during its
"DiCE (Digital Chain Ecosystem)" initiative in 2023, working closely with Asahi Life to co-create strategies for resolving societal challenges.
2.
Utilization of Ecosystem Insights: By using the value creation platform concepts developed by BIPROGY, the project enables multiple service providers to collaborate securely while delivering value to users. Unlike a conventional portal, this system connects data amongst multiple entities to ensure that user interests are prioritized.
3.
Quality Control and Steady Project Advancement: With many external partners involved in this complex project, Cambridge's expertise in project management has been essential for meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Future Initiatives
Looking forward, BIPROGY plans to continue collaborating with its subsidiaries to promote the ecosystem vision while fostering co-creation with various enterprises. Cambridge will utilize its unique methodology,
"Cambridge RAD," to support transformative projects from conception to execution collaboratively.
Asahi Life’s initiative represents a significant response to the urgent social issues of care and dementia, promising a future where families can access comprehensive support and solutions tailored to their needs.
Note: The decentralized data distribution platform, "Dot to Dot," is designed to uphold personal data sovereignty by securely enabling the sharing of personal information across multiple applications.
