New Harris Poll Uncovers Major Concerns for Tech Decision Makers in 2025

Insights from the Latest Harris Poll on Tech Decision Makers

The tech landscape is rapidly evolving, especially as businesses increasingly lean towards artificial intelligence (AI) to boost efficiency and productivity. Recently, Collibra, a leader in data and AI governance, conducted a survey in collaboration with The Harris Poll that provides valuable insights into the concerns of tech decision makers in the U.S. Over 300 decision-makers were surveyed, revealing significant trends in data management and privacy.

Data Privacy at the Forefront

One of the most striking results from the survey is that a substantial 86% of tech decision makers view protecting data privacy as a top concern. As data breaches and privacy scandals continue to make headlines, organizations are under growing pressure to safeguard sensitive information. Furthermore, 76% of those surveyed emphasized the importance of demonstrating a return on investment (ROI) for data privacy and AI initiatives, indicating a shift towards accountability in spending and resource allocation.

The Shift in Data Ownership

The emergence of AI has altered the landscape of data ownership, with approximately 85% of decision makers acknowledging that their companies' data ownership dynamics have changed in the past year. This evolution emphasizes the need for clear governance structures, not only to manage data securely but to balance innovation with compliance.
