StarCharge Unveils Innovative Microgrid Energy Solutions at SNEC Shanghai 2025
StarCharge, recognized as a leader in the integration of power generation, grid, load management, storage, charging, and V2G technology, showcased its innovative solutions at the 11th International Energy Storage Battery Technology and Equipment Conference Exhibition held in Shanghai from October 10-12, 2025. This significant event in the energy sector highlighted StarCharge's expansive portfolio designed to facilitate the transition to sustainable energy practices globally.
The company launched its new IEC standard 2.5MW/5MWh grid-forming string energy storage system (ESS) container, which features an all-in-one design that integrates a 12x215 kW power conversion system alongside a 5 MWh battery. This innovative approach has successfully cut the commissioning time by 50% and reduced land usage by 37.8%. The slogan 'One Rack, One Management' epitomizes the focus on enhancing battery accuracy and efficiency, allowing for a 12-fold increase in precision. Added safety features include triple-layer fire protection and seven electrical safeguard levels, supplemented by AI-driven monitoring that guarantees operational reliability in diverse environmental conditions from -30 °C to +55 °C.
One of the highlights of the product line is the AI thermal management system, which lowers auxiliary energy consumption by 40%, while achieving a DC round-trip efficiency (RTE) of over 96% and an AC RTE of at least 88.5%. These figures illustrate StarCharge's commitment to deploying cutting-edge technology that not only meets but exceeds the industry standards for efficiency and performance, with noise levels capped at a comfortable 74 dB.
In addition to the grid-forming ESS, StarCharge unveiled the eBox-418C, an energy storage system encased in ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). This robust design not only ensures high durability—withstanding temperatures of 1050°C and offering C5-level corrosion protection—but it also boasts a remarkable lifespan of over 100 years. This system includes an advanced fire suppression technology designed for low-temperature immersion, which acts as a second-level flame inhibitor and supports the “one-cell-one-management” model that permits over 10,000 charge cycles.
Moreover, the company presented the IEC eBox-261 energy storage system, rated for over 90% round-trip efficiency, which exceeds the industry average by 2%. With a cycle life surpassing 10,000 cycles, the eBox-261 represents a substantial 25% improvement over traditional systems.
Throughout the exhibition, StarCharge's comprehensive energy product portfolio, alongside its Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform, attracted significant interest from visitors around the globe. The engagement reflects StarCharge's pioneering role in advancing global energy infrastructure solutions. By presenting such innovative products and technologies, StarCharge reaffirms its mission to lead the way towards a more sustainable future, positioning itself at the forefront of the global movement for responsible energy management and innovation.
StarCharge’s future is bright as it continues to innovate within the energy storage and charging landscape, ensuring that both ecological needs and technological advancements go hand-in-hand. This commitment not only shapes a sustainable energy future but also enhances the reliability of energy access worldwide, making StarCharge a key player in future energy technologies.
