Revamped Piano Lighting Solutions by BenQ to Enhance Musical Experience

In an exciting move for music lovers and performers alike, BenQ Japan has announced the re-release of its innovative PianoLight® on April 16, 2026, popularized during the interactive exhibition Otemo no Akari Ten. This smart lighting solution is designed to illuminate piano keys and sheet music uniformly, creating an optimal environment for practice and performance. Additionally, to expand its offerings, BenQ will roll out the PianoLight® Grand aimed at grand pianos in mid-June 2026, both available through the BenQ Direct Online Shop, Amazon, and Rakuten.

The PianoLight® will be available for pre-order starting April 9, 2026, boasting a special 5% discount for early buyers. The response from the exhibition showcasing lighting solutions tailored for various lifestyles has encouraged BenQ to resume production and launch a new product line.

Advanced Lighting Technology

BenQ’s PianoLight® integrates cutting-edge STEREO-Light™ technology, ensuring that both sheet music and piano keys receive the ideal brightness simultaneously, balancing visibility and comfort. With a light reflectance rate of 97% and a multi-zone lens, users can expect efficient and uniform illumination, while the PianoLight® Grand optimizes lighting contrast for a broader playing area typical of concert halls.

Highlighting its smart features, the PianoLight® includes an automatic brightness adjustment function and a seating detection feature. This means the lighting can adapt to the user’s environment, turning on automatically when seated and off after a brief period of inactivity, promoting an effortless musical experience.

Meeting High Standards in Lighting

Both products meet concert hall lighting standards, with the PianoLight® offering over 500 lux for sheet music and more than 300 lux across all 88 keys. With ANSI-compliant brightness and color temperature controls (PianoLight® offers 15 levels at 2700K-5000K, while the Grand offers 14 levels at 2700K-5300K), users can tailor their lighting environments for performances, lessons, or practice sessions.

Elegant Design and Durability

The PianoLight® Grand, supervised by the renowned Kabo Pydo Studio from Poland, features a sleek matte black aluminum alloy design, which won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2024. Constructed from durable S45C steel, it boasts high strength and reliability. A gravity sensor helps in maintaining optimal angle adjustments for the light head, providing an ergonomic experience while playing. Additional height-adjustable covers help mitigate glare during extended practice sessions.
