2025 Mobile Game Success Titles: Cross-Platform Releases on the Rise

Increasing Cross-Platform Releases in Mobile Gaming

A recent survey by SpiceSmart concerning mobile games projected to be successful between January 2025 and April 2026 revealed that approximately 59.7% of these titles will be available on PC platforms. This percentage underscores the rising trend of cross-platform gaming, facilitating access and playability across different devices.

Survey Methodology

Conducted between January 2025 and April 2026, the study focused on 174 mobile game titles that managed to rank within the top 200 sales on the App Store during this period. Titles that were either paid apps or entered the rankings within three months of their release were excluded. Additionally, only games classified as cross-platform with official emulator versions were counted for this survey.

Key Findings

The comprehensive analysis highlighted that 104 out of the 174 scrutinized titles introduced PC versions. Among these, the highest number—64 titles—were released through Google Play Games. Following this, Windows, Steam, and DMM versions were noted, with Steam significantly outperforming its competitor, Epic Games Store.

In addition to these findings, the survey also noted the presence of 10 game titles that either currently have or are expected to have console versions. Although fewer in number, these showcase an evolving landscape where mobile and console gaming can intersect. Seven out of the ten console titles launched simultaneously with their mobile counterparts, suggesting a strategic approach in tapping both gaming markets.

New Trends Among Successful Titles

Moreover, the research identified notable cases where games initially launched on mobile later expanded their accessibility by introducing versions for PC and consoles. A case in point is "Narikawa", which transitioned from its mobile and PC launch in May 2024 to broaden its platform availability in early 2025 with a PlayStation 5 version and subsequently a Steam release in April of the same year. An Xbox version is also slated for July 2026.

New titles are also joining the trend of cross-platform releases. "Game of Thrones: King's Road" is expected to launch on PC before its mobile version, while the iOS/Android adaptation of "Pokemon Champions" is set to debut on Nintendo Switch ahead of its summer 2026 mobile release.

Other titles mentioned in the report such as "Zenless Zone Zero" and "Crystal of Atlan" are also integrating PC and cloud versions into their release line-up, indicating a growing trend toward diversification in platform availability.

Conclusion and Future Outlook

This report provides condensed insights into the landscape of mobile gaming, reflecting an ongoing transition toward inclusive cross-platform accessibility.
