LUUP Electric Mobility Comes to Solana Smart INN Fuji-Kawaguchiko

In an exciting development for residents and travelers in Yamanashi Prefecture, Luup Inc. has announced the introduction of the LUUP electric scooter and e-bike sharing service at the Solana Smart INN Fuji-Kawaguchiko. Set to launch on December 20, 2025, the service aims to enhance the mobility options available to guests at this newly opened hotel.

Strategic Partnership

Luup, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, has built a reputation as a pioneer in electric micro-mobility solutions since its establishment in 2018. Their mission is to create infrastructure that transforms urban areas into accessible hubs, facilitating effortless mobility throughout Japan. This initiative at Solana Smart INN marks the third collaboration with Solana Resort, following successful implementations at the Solana Smart INN Narita Airport and Solana Smart INN Yamanakako.

The partnership with Solana Resort, led by CEO Aya Satake, underscores the commitment to providing innovative solutions that promote convenient and enjoyable stays for guests. The introduction of LUUP services is expected to broaden the experience for visitors, allowing easy access to Lake Kawaguchi’s scenic waterfront and local dining options.

Enhancing Guest Experience

The Solana Smart INN Fuji-Kawaguchiko is designed as a fully private accommodation option featuring trailer homes, accommodating families and even pets. This unique setup aims to offer an enjoyable and comfortable stay, with the addition of LUUP services further enhancing the guest experience. According to CEO Aya Satake, this initiative will boost guest mobility and satisfaction by making it easy to explore scenic spots around the lake, dining establishments, and other attractions.

Overview of LUUP Service

Starting December 20, guests will be able to use the LUUP app to access electric kickboards and electric assist bicycles, which will be available for rent directly from the hotel premises. The service will include:
  • - Electric Kickboards: 3 units available
  • - Electric Bicycles: 2 units available
  • - Rental Port: 1 location at Solana Smart INN Fuji-Kawaguchiko
  • - Operating hours: 24 hours a day

Guests can enjoy a low-base fare of 50 yen, with a per-minute charge of 15 yen, making it an affordable option for short-distance travel. To use the electric kickboards, users must complete age verification and pass a traffic regulation test within the app. E-bikes, however, do not have these requirements, allowing for more straightforward access.

Safety and Liability

Safety is a priority with LUUP, ensuring that users are covered by insurance for personal injuries or damages incurred while using the vehicles. Comprehensive policies support both users and local communities, promoting safer travel practices across the board.

Community Impact

LUUP’s broader initiative, “LUUP for Community,” aims to integrate electric transportation options into localities across Japan, thus supporting local governments, businesses, and organizations in improving transportation accessibility. By integrating LUUP into local attractions and community facilities, the service aims to enhance the value of these areas while providing residents and visitors alike with the freedom to navigate their environments more effectively.

Conclusion

The launch of LUUP’s electric micro-mobility service at the Solana Smart INN Fuji-Kawaguchiko heralds a new era of student-friendly travel options near Lake Kawaguchi, promoting sustainable transportation in a beautiful natural setting. As the region prepares for this innovative change, both guest satisfaction and local tourism potential stand to gain tremendously, ensuring that visitors' trips are not only enjoyable but also environmentally conscious.
