MPC Paris Takes the Lead in VFX for Netflix's New Crime Series Néro the Assassin

TransPerfect, the largest provider of language and AI solutions globally, recently announced that its studio, MPC Paris, played a pivotal role in the post-production and VFX of the Netflix original series, Néro the Assassin. This highly anticipated eight-part series is now available for streaming worldwide, and it positions MPC Paris as a critical player in the visual effects industry.

A Groundbreaking Vision

MPC Paris served as the primary VFX supervisor and partial producer, successfully delivering 238 stunning VFX shots and overseeing the complete picture post-production for all episodes of the series. Overall, Néro the Assassin showcases 832 VFX shots, crafted through collaboration with French partner studios Digital District and Cousin Bizarre, highlighting an impressive collection of visual effects that enhance the narrative of the series.

Under the guidance of VFX Supervisor Arnaud Fouquet, the creative vision of Néro the Assassin was expertly shaped over the course of five months of filming and extensive pre-production phases in both France and Spain. More than 80 artists contributed to the vivid reconstruction of the city of Ségur, while the partner studios handled significant scenes, which included the intricacies of creating CG weapons, blood effects, and enhancing fight choreography.

Seamless Integration

In addition to VFX, MPC Paris adeptly managed the entire picture post-production, which included editing and final color grading. This process ensured consistent visual identity and seamless collaboration with the VFX teams throughout all eight episodes. Arnaud Fouquet emphasized the extraordinary commitment needed for a project of this scale, stating, "A series like this requires a very special kind of commitment—it's the equivalent of three feature films."

Audience Anticipation

Fouquet's pride in the team's achievements shines through as he expresses his eagerness for audiences to experience the high-quality visuals crafted with precision and care. “I think we've all done an outstanding job, and we're proud of the images we created. I can't wait for audiences to discover Néro the Assassin,” he added, pointing to the series' potential to captivate viewers with its high production values.

Phil Shawe, President and Co-CEO of TransPerfect, commented on this landmark project.
