Telecomedia Establishes Multilingual Satellite Contact Center in Tokushima for EXPO 2025
Telecomedia's New Multilingual Satellite Contact Center
On April 13, 2025, a significant milestone was reached as Telecomedia inaugurated its Multilingual Satellite Contact Center in Tokushima. This center is part of a series of initiatives tied to the much-anticipated EXPO 2025, taking place in Osaka and Kansai. As a sponsor of the Osaka-Kansai Pavilion at the expo, Telecomedia aims to enhance the experience of international attendees through comprehensive multilingual services.
The primary role of the Tokushima center is to assist visitors by providing information about the pavilions and facilities within the event venue. With a focus on facilitating smooth communication between foreign attendees and pavilion staff, the center will rely on phone interactions, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder a visitor’s experience at the expo.
English and Chinese will be the primary languages supported at the center, with additional languages handled through collaboration with Telecomedia's Tokyo Center’s Multilingual Contact Center. This strategic partnership broadens the range of services available, ensuring that all visitors can receive assistance in their preferred language.
The establishment of the Tokushima Multilingual Satellite Contact Center marks a concerted effort to foster a new wave of people flow and expand international relationships within Tokushima Prefecture, especially considering it is recognized as a crucial step towards the region's inaugural year of internationalization.
Following the conclusion of the expo, Telecomedia plans to continue its initiatives focused on internationalization efforts specific to Tokushima. This includes offering skills in simultaneous interpretation and medical translation required for international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) events that cater to the foreign residents of Japan. This commitment underlines a dedication to creating a more inclusive and culturally connected local environment.
Since its founding in 1981, Telecomedia has built a reputation as a leading contact center provider in Japan, prioritizing quality interaction across various industries. The Tokushima center, initiated in 2004, has evolved to become the largest call center in the region, offering services in up to 22 languages, available 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year. This expansion into multilingual services at such a critical time showcases Telecomedia's responsiveness to both current market needs and future expectations in a globalized society.
As Telecomedia continues to collaborate with Tokushima Prefecture to operate the multilingual contact center, it solidifies its position as an essential player in the region's growth and development. The vision is to ensure that Tokushima emerges as a welcoming city for foreign visitors, enhancing not just tourism but fostering long-term relationships and exchanges that reflect the prefecture's commitment to international solidarity and cultural diversity.
