Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra Series Receives Prestigious Red Dot Award
In a remarkable achievement for Philips Japan, the company's latest electric shaver, the
Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra Series, has been awarded the illustrious
Red Dot Design Award in the product design category, earning the distinguished title of
Best of the Best. This accolade is one of the most revered in the design world, recognizing products that exemplify innovative design and exceptional quality.
Since its inception in 1955, the Red Dot Design Award has stood as a benchmark for outstanding design excellence. Hosted by the
Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, it is an international design competition that honors achievements in three main categories: product design, brand and communication design, and design concepts. The assessment criteria include innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecology, and durability, with nine specific standards taken into account for evaluation. This rigorous process ensures that only the finest products are celebrated.
The Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra Series triumphed in this highly competitive arena, showcasing an extraordinary level of sophistication in design and technology. The award jury was particularly impressed by the series, stating, "The Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra Series showcases a refined product that reflects years of product development necessary to achieve this level of quality, factoring in current technological excellence, user experience, and overall design prowess."
Design Philosophy Behind the i9000 Series
Georges Bourjat, the design leader at
Philips Grooming & Beauty, remarks, "The Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra Series was developed to provide a premium and personalized shaving experience tailored to each individual. The goal was to create a product that feels like an extension of the body, offering seamless and intuitive usability. Everything from the elegantly shaped handle to the intelligent sensors, travel case, charging stand, and multifunctional UV power charger designed for UV sterilization, each detail is meticulously crafted with precision and care for the user."
Sustainability is a critical aspect of Philips' design ethos. The i9000 shaver incorporates recycled materials and comes with a robust seven-year product warranty, reflecting Philips' commitment to durability and environmental stewardship.
