Event Details
Date: January 23, 2026
Time: 13:30 - 15:30
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Speaker: Mr. Kazushi Sano, Head of Sewage Facility Maintenance, Fujii City Waterworks Department
Seminar Focus
As outlined in the revised 5th-year action plan for promoting
PPP/PFI, the concept of Water PPP has been defined as an innovative public-private partnership approach. This mechanism is particularly crucial for securing national funding support for sewer rehabilitation, which is fast becoming a requirement in the aftermath of recent updates to the policy set for implementation by 2029.
Municipalities are now urgently required to consider adopting Water PPP to address not only outdated infrastructure but also disaster risk management and efforts towards decarbonization. Many local governments are currently struggling with limited budgets and workforce to manage these pressing issues effectively.
This seminar will delve into:
1. The current state and overview of sewerage operations in
Fujii City.
2. The application and benefits of PPPs in sewer management.
3. Real examples of sewer infrastructure management utilizing PPP.
4. Case studies of the introduction of Water PPP.
5. A Q&A session encouraging participant engagement.
6. Networking opportunities via a business card exchange and mixer, fostering connections that may lead to business expansion opportunities.
