Upcoming JPI Seminar on Cancer Control Strategy Evaluation
On December 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, the Japan Planning Institute (JPI) will host an important seminar featuring a presentation by Kumiko Oi, Senior Assistant Director at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This seminar will delve into the interim evaluation of the "Fourth Basic Plan for Cancer Control" and the evolution of cancer screening through digital transformation (DX).
Seminar Overview
The fourth Basic Plan for Cancer Control was approved by the Cabinet in March 2023. As this fiscal year marks the mid-point of the six-year plan, discussions surrounding the interim evaluation have commenced. For the first time in this period, a logic model is being employed to conduct a targeted evaluation based on core indicators. Additionally, the seminar will highlight initiatives toward a systematic integration of cancer screening data from local governments, as well as discussions on frameworks for municipal cancer screening DX.
