The SL Taiju 'Hani-tsu' is set to make its inaugural entry into Aizuwakamatsu Station on June 27, 2026, marking a monumental occasion as it runs on the former National Rail Aizu Line for the first time in 52 years. To commemorate this rare event, Tobu Top Tours Co., Ltd. has announced the opening of participant registrations for the 'SL Photography Event' starting June 5 at 2 PM.

This initiative is part of the large-scale tourism campaign, the 'Fukushima Destination Campaign (Fukushima DC)', which aims to elevate the historical significance of the special train service. Participants in this unique event will not only have access to an exclusive photo area at Aizutaguchi Station but will also receive special tokens of remembrance and vouchers for the marketplace taking place at the station square.

As part of Tobu's strategy to enhance local tourism routes linking Nikko and Aizu, this event signifies its commitment to invigorating the Aizu region while optimizing the broad regional value of the railway lines including Tobu Railway, Yagan Railway, Aizu Railway, and JR East.

• - Event Overview: Participants will have the opportunity to capture memorable photographs of the SL Taiju 'Hani-tsu' and an unveiling ceremony for the head mark in a designated area open only to event attendees.
• - Participation Fee: 13,000 yen per adult (tax included)
